Oscar Wiggli is a dialogue between strength and delicateness, a contrast between the huge power of completed works and the lightness of drawings, between the clamour of a shop and the quietness of the composer’s studio, between iron and sound, between action and thought. To sketch a portrait of the artist, forte-piano draws inspiration from these dynamic opposites.
[English translation: François Couture, v-12]
forte-piano was realized in 2008 at the composer’s studio in Avignon (France) and was premiered on 20 September 2008 as part of a concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of Swiss sculptor and electroacoustic music composer Oscar Wiggli at Hôtel de ville de Saignelégier (Switzerland). This first version of forte-piano was followed by a second one. The latter version was completed in December 2010; it supersedes the previous one.
