The 2009 Futura festival will take place on August, 20 — 23, 2009 in Crest, France. The 5th Qwartz Electronic Music Awards took place on April 3, 2009 at Cirque d’hiver Bouglione in Paris (France). Lionel Marchetti has been awarded the Artist Qwartz and won in the experimental category with his work Adèle et Hadrien (le livre des vacances). In the artwork and packaging category, the winner is Skoltz_Kolgen’s video Silent Room. Christian Zanési has been awarded the Special Qwartz.
Young composers from Conservatoire de Mons (Belgium) will present a concert on April 2, 2009 at Espace Senghor in Brussels (Belgium) where they will perform works by, amongst others, Steve Reich, Christian Zanési, Richard Devine, and Denis Dufour.
The Sound Junction 2009 event will take place on June 5-6, 2009 at the University of Sheffield (UK) with special guest: François Bayle, who will give a concert on June 5. Also scheduled, a premiere by Robert Dow and works by Hans Tutschku, Adrian Moore, Erdem Helvacioglu, Christian Zanési, and Peter Batchelor.
The 2008 Electroacoustic Music Studies Conference (EMS08) “Musique concrète — 60 years later” will take place on June 3-7, 2008 in Paris (France). Amongst the guest speakers:
