The Prix Ton Bruynèl 2010 was awarded ex æquo to Crystal Counterpoint by Åke Parmerud and to Préludes suspendus III by Horacio Vaggione. Honorary mentions were also awarded to works by Ricardo de Armas, Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, Martin Bédard, and Jacob ter Veldhuis.

The 5th edition of the Sound and Music Computing Conference (SMC ’08) will take place from July 31 to August 3, 2008 in Berlin (Germany). Starting July 23 concerts will be presented as part of the Inventionen 2008 festival. The joined programme is absolutely outstanding: many artists will be there, such as Martin Bédard, François Bayle, Ivo Malec, Bernard Parmegiani, Jean-Claude Risset, Denis Smalley, Horacio Vaggione, Annette Vande Gorne… Not to be missed:

  • July 26: concert by Gilles Gobeil (Trilogie d’ondes) with Suzanne Binet-Audet playing ondes Martenot;
  • July 27: concert “60 Jahre Musique Concrète & 50 Jahre GRM”;
  • July 31: SMC ’08 opening concert with Gilles Gobeil (premiere of Castalie), Ludger Brümmer, Hans Tutschku et Åke Parmerud.

On April 24, 2008, a 50-year journey proposed by José Manuel Berenguer & Carmen Pardo will be presented as part of the Ars Musica’s Night of the Electroacoustic Music. The event will take place at Kaaitheater in Brussels (Belgium). The concert is in three part, each of them is dedicated to a generation of composers. On programme, works by: Schaeffer, Varèse, Eimert, Stockhausen, Xenakis, Ferrari, Risset, Dhomont, Ferreyra, Mandolini, Vande Gorne, Polonio, Truax, Vaggione, and Kupper.

Musiques & Recherches will present a concert that will premiere different electro works on April 27, 2007 at Petit Théâtre Mercelis in Brussels (Belgium). Amongst other titles, Liaisons mécaniques by Nicolas Bernier (commissioned by Musiques & Recherches with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec), the new piece Arenas by Horacio Vaggione, and Distance liquide by Hans Tutschku.
