The 2nd edition of the Konnexions festival will be held on September 29 and 30, 2006 at Cri du Port hall and Parvis des Arts Festival in Marseille (France). Amongst the works presented… La roue ferris by Bernard Parmegiani, L’argent… toujours l’argent! by Marc Tremblay, Studio de nuit by Francis Dhomont, Appel d’air by Michel Redolfi, as well as improvised performances by Zbigniew Karkowski and Catherine Jauniaux.
This year, the Futura 06 festival in Crest (France) is compressed into a 3-day event — August 18 — 20, 2006 — and into one 35-hour concert. Amongst the featured composers: Luc Ferrari (homage), Michèle Bokanowski, Michel Chion, Darren Copeland, Matmos, Yann Paranthoën (homage), Elsa Justel, Roxanne Turcotte, and Pierre Henry. Then on August 27, a concert concluding an acousmatic diffusion workshop will feature 15 works by just as many composers, including Francis Dhomont and Marc Tremblay.

For the “Monde parallèle Montréal 45°N//” event, organized by Lille — Cultural Capital of Europe, label empreintes DIGITALes presented a portrait of Montréal’s electroacoustic creation since 1971 through 24 works by 21 Montréal composers: Serge Arcuri, Yves Beaupré, Christian Bouchard, Ned Bouhalassa, Christian Calon, Micheline Coulombe Saint-Marcoux, Yves Daoust, Francis Dhomont, Paul Dolden, Louis Dufort, Gilles Gobeil, Monique Jean, René Lussier, Robert Normandeau, Arturo Parra, Mario Rodrigue, Stéphane Roy, Alain Thibault, Jacques Tremblay, Marc Tremblay, Roxanne Turcotte. Electroacoustic label empreintes DIGITALes, new media and electronic art festivals Elektra and Mutek with the collaboration of the Society for arts and technology (SAT) all teamed up to present the best of Montréal’s electronic music and video.
Marc Tremblay creates the sonic environment of “Nuit bruit mer noir” (Night Noise Sea Black), an exhibition featuring photographers Yves Arcand, Robert Baronet and François Wells, held at Matane’s Espace F (Québec) from July 5 to August 24, 2003.
More than a technical challenge, Machines 08: “Le chemin des machines” is a wonderful networked improvised composition. 4 musicians live through the internet, 8 others scattered in strange places in the Méduse complex and 4 electroacoustic composers to spatialize the result on a loudspeakers orchestra.
