The series of archive films ”Rendez-vous Ina / Cinémathèque: musique contemporaine” with documentaries and short films on composers of musique concrète and electroacoustics will take place on January 28 to February 13, 2009 at the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montréal. On the first day, at 6pm, a roundtable discussion will bring together Évelyne Gayou from the Ina-GRM, Robert Normandeau, Alain Thibault, and Walter Boudreau.
Gilles Gobeil and Alain Thibault will be at the the centre of the evening “Dedans/dehors” about immersive music. In the second half of the event, the 2 guest composers will discuss about their esthetic, formal and philosophic concerns; Louis Dufort will be the moderator. This lecture will be followed by a concert given by Gilles Gobeil and Alain Thibault. Both who will share the stage with Joël Beauchamp, Pierre-Marc Beaudoin, and Jean-François Blouin. This audio immersive event wil take place on May 14, 2007 at SAT in Montréal (and it’s free…).
The Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ) present “In Extremis,” on October 22, 2004. Amongst the works presented at this concert, we find to composition for tape, Beyond the Walls of Jericho by Paul Dolden and Le cauchemar climatisé by Alain Thibault.

For the “Monde parallèle Montréal 45°N//” event, organized by Lille — Cultural Capital of Europe, label empreintes DIGITALes presented a portrait of Montréal’s electroacoustic creation since 1971 through 24 works by 21 Montréal composers: Serge Arcuri, Yves Beaupré, Christian Bouchard, Ned Bouhalassa, Christian Calon, Micheline Coulombe Saint-Marcoux, Yves Daoust, Francis Dhomont, Paul Dolden, Louis Dufort, Gilles Gobeil, Monique Jean, René Lussier, Robert Normandeau, Arturo Parra, Mario Rodrigue, Stéphane Roy, Alain Thibault, Jacques Tremblay, Marc Tremblay, Roxanne Turcotte. Electroacoustic label empreintes DIGITALes, new media and electronic art festivals Elektra and Mutek with the collaboration of the Society for arts and technology (SAT) all teamed up to present the best of Montréal’s electronic music and video.
Alain Thibault, featured on Volt, composed the original soundtrack of Paul-André Fortier’s choreography, “Risque”.
In concert at Casa del Popolo (Montréal) Thursday May 9, 2002, the Kappa ensemble plays, amongst others, the compositions ElectroniK by Nicolas Basque, Pourpre est la nuit by Alain Thibault and Paul Dolden’s guitar and tape pieces Physics of Seduction and The Vertigo of a Ritualized Frenzy.
