2005 Bourges WinnersThe winners of the 32nd Bourges International Competition of Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art (France) have been announced. The Magisterium was awarded to composer Åke Parmerud and his work SubString Bridge, for guitar and interactive computer. Mathew Adkins received a mention in the “abstract music” category for Silk to Steel. Pete Stollery’s Vox Magna was also selected in this category. Other pieces were selected in various categories: Ombres, espaces, silences… by Gilles Gobeil, Cold Storage by Janek Schaefer, Piano Piece (for Peter) by Adrian Moore, and Aesthetics of the Machine by Elio Martusciello. Notably, composer Roxanne Turcotte saw two of her works selected, Sons et tintamarre in the “program music” category and Micro-trottoir in the “work for installation” category.
