Quatuor de saxophones de Montréal
Walter Boudreau, Baritone saxophone Artistic Director of the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ) since 1988, Walter Boudreau is a conductor, composer and saxophonist. He regularly conducts the SMCQ Ensemble, has also conducted the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal and was guest conductor of the National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa, Ontario), of the Vancouver New Music Society ensemble, and of the Orchestre des jeunes du Québec (OJQ). Dave Clark, Alto saxophone Dave Clark graduated with a Bachelor of Music from McGill University. He has played first clarinet with the Canada Symphony Orchestra and is a faculty member of Concordia University and leads his own jazz group. René Masino, Alto saxophone René Masino received the first prize of the Conservatoire de musique du Québec de Montréal and was a member of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) for fifteen years. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Music of Université de Montréal and is a freelance bassoonist and saxophonist. [René Masino passed away in August 1998.] Simon Stone, Soprano saxophone Simon Stone graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the McGill University. He has performed as soloist with the McGill Symphony Orchestra and with the jazz ensemble Melosphere at the Festival de Montreux in 1987.
