Many electrocd.com artists are nominated for the 13th Opus prizes, awarded since 1996 by the Conseil québécois de la musique. empreintes DIGITALes’ discs Chroniques d’une séduction by Jacques Tremblay and Gratte-cité by Ned Bouhalassa; as well as No Type’s disc Les arbres by Nicolas Bernier are nominated for “Album of the year - actuelle and electroacoustic musics.” The concert Remix de classiques! presenting Chorals ornés, a work by Yves Daoust, is nominated for “Concert of the year - actuelle and electroacoustic musics,” as well as the concert by Jacques Poulin-Denis and Martin Messier presented as part of Akousma (5). The work Chorals ornés is also nominated for “Premiere of the year.” Winners will be announced on January 31, 2010 during the Gala in Montréal.

Nicolas Bernier and Jacques Poulin-Denis has composed the music for two theatre productions: Le Complexe de Thénardier (directed by Denis Marleau) presented at the Espace Go in Montréal from January 20 to February 14, 2009 and La chambre blanche (a choreography by Ginette Laurin) presented at Place des Arts in Montréal on February 12 - 18. Both productions are back from triumphal tours in Europe. The adaptation of the music for La chambre blanche will be released on disc, Sur fond blanc, on February 12, available on electrocd.com.

The Projet pupitre performance by Martin Messier and Jacques Poulin-Denis preceded by Martin Tétreault’s — 4 artistes pour 2 disc-jockeys starring David Lafrance and D Julied mixing works by Diane Morin, Robert Racine, Jean-Pierre Gauthier, and Manon Labrecque… — will be presented at the Auditorium of Grande Bibliothèque (Montréal) as part of the “10 ans d’arts médiatiques en 3 prises” by the CQAM on April 19, 2008 from 8 pm. Big party, free admisson.

The show Les angles morts will be presented at Les Repérages festival in Lille (France) on March 28, 2008. The choreography is by Mélanie Demers, the music and performance by Jacques Poulin-Denis. Besides, O Vertigo’s La chambre blanche (not to be mixed-up with Robert Normandeau’s work with the same title!), another choreography for which Nicolas Bernier and Jacques Poulin-Denis have composed the music, is still touring Europe until March 21, 2008.
