Of Scottish origins, Stuart Patterson studied voice with Winifred Busfield in Glasgow (Scotland). He performed sacred music in Glasgow, performing in Handel’s Mass, Delalande’s De Profundis, and Haydn’s Creation. Having come to France in 1981 on a grant from the French government to complete his studies, he was engaged by the Groupe vocal de France then under the direction of John Alldis took part in numerous concerts and recordings of contemporary music in collaboration with composers such as Nuñez, Xenakis, Dusapin, Hersant, and Berio… Member of the Opera di Pisa (Italy) since 1990, he has sung Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Basilio and Curzio (Le Nozze di Figaro), Ramiro (La Cenerentola), Valletto and Lucano (L’Incoronazione di Poppea). In France, his repertoire has continued to develop: the Stabat Mater by Haydn with Jean Walter Audoli, Les Noces by Stravinsky with Roland Heyrabedian, Le Pauvre matelot by Darius Milhaud with Bernard Desgraupes, Beau soir by Gérard Pesson with Dominique My. For Atelier lyrique de Tourcoing, he sang Bastien (Bastien et Bastienne), Clem (Le Petit ramoneur by Britten), and finally, Basilio and Curzio in the new production of Le Nozze di Figaro under the direction of Jean-Claude Malgloire.
