Organized by the CMMAS, the 6th Visiones Sonoras festival will place in Morelia (Mexico) on November 3 - 6, 2010 with the guest composers, amomgst several others, Åke Parmerud, jef chippewa, Julio d’Escriván, and Mathew Adkins (premiere of Entangled Symmetries). jef chippewa will return to CMMAS in mid-November for a two-week residency to work on a new composition.

The Prix Ton Bruynèl 2010 was awarded ex æquo to Crystal Counterpoint by Åke Parmerud and to Préludes suspendus III by Horacio Vaggione. Honorary mentions were also awarded to works by Ricardo de Armas, Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, Martin Bédard, and Jacob ter Veldhuis.

Åke Parmerud will visit the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal on November 11, 2009. His presence starts with a conference at 7 pm followed by a concert at 8 pm where four students from the electroacoustic composition course will be diffusing four of his works. The concert will end with his new work Crystal Counterpoint to be diffused by its composer.

The acousmatic and multimedia festival Sonoimágenes will take place on September 2 - 4, 2009 at Lanús’ National University, near Buenos Aires (Argentina). On September 3, Elsa Justel will present her works Débris, Bastet, as well as the videomusic Moure el món. On September 4, Åke Parmerud will present La vie mécanique, Bows, Arcs and The Arrow of Time, and Crystal Counterpoint. Åke Parmerud and Roger Cochini will each be awarded the Qwartz Hommage Pierre-Schaeffer during the gala of the 5th Qwartz Electronic Music Awards at Cirque d’hiver Bouglione in Paris (France) on April 3, 2009. This prize pays tribute to a composer of electroacoutics. The previous prize winners are Bernard Parmegiani (2006); Henri Pousseur (2007); Beatriz Ferreyra and Jean-Claude Risset (2008).

The 5th edition of the Sound and Music Computing Conference (SMC ’08) will take place from July 31 to August 3, 2008 in Berlin (Germany). Starting July 23 concerts will be presented as part of the Inventionen 2008 festival. The joined programme is absolutely outstanding: many artists will be there, such as Martin Bédard, François Bayle, Ivo Malec, Bernard Parmegiani, Jean-Claude Risset, Denis Smalley, Horacio Vaggione, Annette Vande Gorne… Not to be missed:

  • July 26: concert by Gilles Gobeil (Trilogie d’ondes) with Suzanne Binet-Audet playing ondes Martenot;
