Founded in 2006 by the ZKM’s Institute for Music and Acoustics (Karlsruhe, Germany) and the SWR’s Experimentalstudio (Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany), the Giga-Hertz-Award celebrates the career of a composer and four production prizes are given to composers for projects to be realized at teh ZKM or the Experimentalstudio. The grand prize was attributed to Gottfried Michael Koenig while the four production prizes were awarded to Dániel Péter Biró, José Miguel Fernandez, Orestis Karamanlis, and Robert Normandeau (for his work Jeu de langues).

Anadliad by Robert Normandeau, commissioned Bangor University, will premiere on November 4, 2010 a a concert presented by Electroacoustic Wales in Bangor (Wales, UK). Two days later, Like Radio, commissioned by Sound and Music, will premiere during the Cut & Splice Festival at Wilton’s Music Hall in London (England, UK). Also on that programme are Radio Music by John Cage, and Kurzwellen by Karlheinz Stockhausen.

The festival Sonoimágenes 2010 will take place on October 19 - 21, 2010 in Buenos Aires and Remedios de Escalada (Argentina). Robert Normandeau will present a concert on October 21 — a concert part of the 20th anniversary of empreintes DIGITALes — and a seminar on Timbral Spatialization. Amongst the selected works are those by Gilles Gobeil, Inés Wickmann / Francis Dhomont, Hans Tutschku, Julien-Robert Legault Salvail, and Suk-Jun Kim. The other speakers are Ianina Canalis, Petra Bachratá, Anna Zielinska, Fabián Esteban Luna, and Martín Devoto.

The Happening Festival of New Music and Media 2010 will take place at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall of the Rozsa Centre in Calgary (Alberta) on January 25 - 29, 2010. The Sound & Image concert on January 26 features Robert Normandeau who will present three works — Chorus, Jeu de langues (new version), and StrinGDberg — on a multichannel sound diffusion system. At the same concert are programmed videomusics by Bret Battey, Louis Dufort, and Laurie Radford. The New Adventures in Sound Art concert — co-presented by New Works Calgary — on January 28 presents works by David Berezan, Darren Copeland, David Eagle, and Hildegard Westerkamp. The festival also includes conferences and sound installations.
