Many electrocd.com artists are nominated for the 9th Opus prizes, awarded since 1996 by the Conseil québécois de la musique. The concert Pulsar *1, unveiling the musics from Puzzles by Robert Normandeau, is nominated for “Concert of the year - actuelle and electroacoustic musics”, as well as the Theresa Transistor quartet (Christian Bouchard, Christian Calon, Mario Gauthier, Monique Jean), presented during the Akousma concert series. Estrapade by morceaux_de_machines, Trilogie d’ondes by Gilles Gobeil, and Puzzles by Robert Normandeau are nominated for “Album of the year - actuelle and electroacoustic musics”. Finally, Frank Zappa: 10 ans après (Frank Zappa: Ten Years After) directed by Réjean Beaucage, is nominated for “Book of the year”. Winners will be announced on January 22, 2006.
The Vancouver New Music Festival produces Interférence: statique x-statique / static x-static and presents, on Wednesday Octobre 19, 2005, Fred Frith, Jean Derome and Pierre Tanguay. And on Thursday October 20, it’s Diane Labrosse, Jean-Pierre Gauthier and The Unexpected. Then, on Friday October 21, the festival presents Joane Hétu, Magali Babin and Klaxon Gueule. Finally, on Saturday October 22, morceaux_de_machines will be making their first Vancouver appearance at the festival.
Futurist audio art duet morceaux_de_machines is touring the Pacific in October 2005. The duet will perform at the Electrofringe New Media Arts Festival in Newcastle (Australia) on October 1 — 3, 2005, at the Disorientation event in Sydney (Australia) on October 5, 2005, and the 7th Totally Huge New Music Festival in Perth (Australia) on October 6 — 16, 2005. Finally, morceaux_de_machines will play at the Vancouver New Music Festival (BC) on October 22, 2005.
Two years after their first album, liberum arbitrium, the eletcronic noise duet morceaux_de_machines is back with Estrapade. On this new opus, they are joined by Diane Labrosse (sampler), Martin Tétreault and Yoshihide Otomo (turntables). Moreover, post-production and mastering was entrusted to maximalist composer Paul Dolden.
Klaxon Gueule (Michel F Côté, Alexandre St-Onge, Bernard Falaise) will meet head on with morceaux_de_machines (Érick Dorion, A_dontigny) at La Sala Rossa (Montréal) on September 1, 2004 for a night of massive electronic improvisation!
It is now official, the public is invited to experience morceaux_de_machines’ “refreshing dose of megalomania” at Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville (FIMAV) on May 20, 2004. On this occasion, the eletronic bruitist duo will be joined by VJs Boris Firquet and Éric Gagnon.

You are invited at Casa del Popolo (Montréal) Saturday March 8, 2003 for an aural event of epic proportions: the head on meeting of parasites (the duet of turntablist Martin Tétreault and samplist Diane Labrosse) and morceaux_de_machines (Érick Dorion and A_dontigny, computers) in a sonic clash of beautiful patterns, uncompromising noise, surprising acousmatic movements and — yes! — even beats, scratches and pop samples! Although they have worked together before, it is the first time the four of them actually play as a quartet. Érick Dorion and Martin Tétreault are currently collaborating together on a forthcoming album, Diane Labrosse and A_dontigny will release theirs on No Type in april 2003, Télépathie, recorded live last year.
