The Foundation Destellos has announced the results of the 3rd edition of its International competition of electroacoustic composition: Adam Stansbie has received the first prize for his work Escapade, the Motus Prize has been awarded to El espejo de Alicia by Federico Schumacher Ratti, and the Phonos Prize has been awarded to Métal en bouche by Georges Forget. Mentions were also awarded to works by Franco Alberto Pellini, Éric Broitmann, Ambrose Seddon, Luciano Giambastiani, and Elainie Lillios.
The Music Technology programme at Northeastern University in Boston (USA) is presenting a 4-concert electroacoustic concert series this winter 2010. Concert #1 on January 23, 2010 is featuring Gilles Gobeil (and will include Dreams in the Desert by Elainie Lillios) and concert #2 on February 13 is featuring Denis Smalley (and will include à la cire perdue by Laurie Radford). Both these first concerts are presented at The Fenway Center in Boston (USA).
The winners of the 36th Bourges International Competition of Electroacoustic Music and Electronic Arts (France) have been announced. In the Electroacoustic Music Part — Section II Trivium / Quadrivium Elainie Lillios got a prize for her work Veiled Resonance. In the same section Gilles Gobeil’s work Castalie and De deux points de vue by Todor Todoroff were awarded a mention. In the Electronic Arts Part Mathew Adkins was awarded a mention for his work Five Panels.
Ombres, espaces, silences… by Gilles Gobeil has been selected for a continuous presentation (Harty Room) during the upcoming ICMC 2008 to take place on August 24-29, 2008 in Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK). Moreover, Olivier Bélanger, Elainie Lillios, Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, Mathew Adkins, and Hans Tutschku have works presented in concerts!
Gilles Gobeil, Jonty Harrison, David Hindmarch, and Elainie Lillios will successively curate an evening concert during the next BEAST series. The event will take place on January 9 — 12, 2008 at the George Cadbury Hall, University of Birmingham (England, UK).
Robert Normandeau and Jean-François Denis presented the closing concert of the “Akusmatisches Wochenende” festival produced by the Studio für elektroakustische Musik (SeaM) in Weimar (Germany) on June 18, 2006. The programme included works by Normandeau, and, spatialized by Denis, short works by Elainie Lillios, Elsa Justel, Elizabeth Hoffman, Natasha Barrett, John Oswald, Yves Daoust, and Pierre Alexandre Tremblay.
Ludger Brümmer, Kevin Austin, Flô Menezes, Francis Dhomont, Lucio Garau, and Jonty Harrison are the guest composers at the 3rd Festival di musica acusmatica, June 23 to 25, 2006 in Cagliari (Sardinia). On June 24, Dhomont will spatialize works by several Québec composers: Noyade en magma by Dominique Bassal, 13'13 pour voix défigurées by Monique Jean and Time Well / La fontaine du temps by Christian Calon, and a work by Brümmer. Voyage-miroir by Dhomont will be presented by another guest composer, Garau. Finally, several other composers from empreintes DIGITALes will also be featured: Gobeil, Moore, Álvarez, Smalley, Tutschku, Fort, Stollery, and Lillios!
The 15th Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival (FEMF) will be held from April 6 to 8, 2006 at the Black Box Theater of the University of Florida in Gainesville (USA). John Chowning is composer-in-residence and works by Jonty Harrison, Adrian Moore, Elainie Lillios, David Berezan, Andrew Lewis, and others will be presented during the concert “Electroacoustic Music from the University of Birmingham” (UK).
Musiques & Recherches presents Patchwork au féminin (A Feminine Patchwork), a concert of acousmatique music dedicated to works composed by women, on November 11, 2005 in Brussels. Natasha Barrett, Marcelle Deschênes, Beatriz Ferreyra, Monique Jean, Elainie Lillios, Roxanne Turcotte and Annette Vande Gorne are amongst the selected composers.
Robert Normandeau is one of the guest composers at the
festival June in Buffalo (NY) on June 1 to 6, 2004. The theme
in 2004 is “Music + Computers.” Robert Normandeau will present
two recent multiphonic works, Chorus (2002) and StrinGDberg (2001-03). Åke Parmerud, Zack Settel,
