Catherine Lewis has premiered works by Murray Adaskin, Rudolf Komorous, Owen Underhill, Linda Catlin Smith, Christopher Butterfield, Kirk Elliott, Rod Sharman, Sylvia Rickard, and Henry Becker. She has performed with the Steve Reich and Musicians ensemble, Vancouver New Music, and Arraymusic. She graduated from the University of Victoria in Voice Performance, where she studied under Frances James Adaskin. She spent a further three years studying in Europe, principally in Paris (France). Upon returning to Canada, Catherine Lewis received a scholarship to attend The Banff Centre for the Arts’ Advanced Music Studies Program, where she worked with Mary Morrison, Robert Aitken, Toru Takemitsu, George Crumb, Jean Piché; and George Coates. Catherine Lewis teaches Voice at the University of Victoria.
