Fides Krucker (Montréal, Québec, 1960) • residence: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Fides Krucker trained with the Music Theatre Studio Ensemble at The Banff Centre for the Arts (Canada). She has sung Luciano Berio’s Folk Songs (1964) throughout Europe from 1986 to 1990, often with the composer conducting. Her performances of contemporary opera roles includes works by John Metcalf, Quenten Doolittle, Paul Dresher, Claude Vivier, Mauricio Kagel, Michael Maguire, Peter Maxwell-Davies, R Murray Schafer, and Owen Underhill. Fides Krucker has also collaborated with the Vancouver dance theatre company Jumpstart!, has directed and performed Arnold Schönberg’s Pierrot lunaire (1912) on three continents, and is a founding member of Urge, a music theatre collaboration exploring female creativity. She recently performed at the International Symposium on Electronic Art, ISEA95 Montréal.
