The 4th Festival Internazionale di Musica Elettroacustica del Conservatorio Santa Cecilia (EmuFest) will take place on October 9 to 16, 2011 in Rome (Italy). One of its 15 concerts focuses on the United Kingdom and presents works by Denis Smalley and Jonty Harrison, amongt others. Works by Francis Dhomont are also programed during this festival.
The happy superposition of the festival Sound Travels and of the Toronto Electroacoustic Symposium brings together concerts and keynote presentation with Jonty Harrison, David Berezan, Yves Daoust and many others. The main concert of Sound Travels and the symposium take place on August 10 - 13, 2011 at Artscape Wychwood Barns in Toronto (Canada). The following week, August 16 - 20, will present an intensive workshop with Jonty Harrison, David Ogborn, Darren Copeland, Rob Cruickshank, and Marla Hlady in the same venue, Artscape Wychwood Barns.
At the initiative of composer Stephan Dunkelman, 4 acousmatic composers amongst the most important of the genre — François Bayle, Francis Dhomont, Beatriz Ferreyra, and Bernard Parmegiani — pay homage to the work of Annette Vande Gorne on May 9, 2011 at a concert in Flagey in Brussels (Belgium). They will each diffuse a work by Vande Gorne and premiere a new work of their own. On the same programme are more premieres by Jonty Harrison, Ingrid Drese, Raúl Minsburg, and Elsa Justel.
Jonty Harrison will be touring Northern California on January 9 - 12, 2011 with three different solo multichannel concerts. Starting on January 9 at The San Francisco Tape Music Festival 2010, Jonty Harrison will then give a talk and second concert at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University on January 10, and a thrid concert at the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies (CNMAT) at UC Berkeley on January 12. At these concerts he will diffuse works from the following: BEASTory, … et ainsi de suite…, Hot Air, Internal Combustion, Klang, Rock ’n’ Roll, Splintering, Streams, Undertow, and Unsound Objects.
Jonty Harrison and BEAST are the principal guests of Inventionen 2010. The seven concerts will take place from July 29, 2010 to August 1st at the St Elisabeth-Kirche in Berlin (Germany). amongst the almost forty works programmed are ten premieres by Jonty Harrison, Richard Barrett, Chris Tarren, Hans Tutschku, Shelly Knotts, and others, and a new version of Le travail du rêve by Francis Dhomont.
The Birmingham ElectroAcoustic Sound Theatre (BEAST) will present a series of 5 concerts on Travels in Time and Space on May 29 — 31, 2009 at CBSO Centre in Birmingham (England, UK). On May 30, Andrew Lewis will give a solo concert during which he will present his works Danses acousmatiques, Benllech Shells (available on Miroirs obscurs) and Ascent. Another concert the same evening will present Jonty Harrison’s work Phantom Power and Hans Tutschku’s Zwei Räume.
Jonty Harrison will present 2 concerts in the Hydra Series in the John Knowles Paine Concert Hall of Harvard University in Cambridge (USA) on May 13-14, 2009. He will perform his works Klang, Undertow, Internal Combustion and Hot Air.
AMP presents Surround Sounds, an evening of 2 concerts of electroacoustic music from Stockhausen to the Present on May 8, 2009 at The Tank in New York City (USA). The second concert is focused on the acousmatic music of Jonty Harrison. His works Klang (available on Évidence matérielle), Unsound Objects (on Articles indéfinis), Undertow and Internal Combustion (on Environs) will be presented by the composer.
Synthèse 2009 — 39th Bourges International Electronic Music and Compositions Festival will take place from May 29 to June 6, 2009 in Bourges (France). Amongst guest artists this year: Åke Parmerud, Pete Stollery, Jonty Harrison, Yves Daoust, Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, Georges Forget, João Pedro Oliveira, Ingrid Drese, and many others.
