Robert Normandeau will premiere his most recent work La part des anges on November 26, 2011 during the Imatronic festival in Karlsruhe (Germany). At the same event, the day before, is programmed a performance of the choreography Effraction de l’oubli by Camille Mutel for which Gilles Gobeil composed the music.
Ai-maako, the 11st Festival Internacional de Música Electroacústica de Chile, will take place on October 14 - 22, 2011 in Santiago and Valdivia (Chile). Works by Francis Dhomont, Federico Schumacher Ratti, Gilles Gobeil, João Pedro Oliveira, Martin Bédard and several others are featured during this 2-city festival.
The Foundation Destellos has announced the results of the 4th edition of its electroacoustic composition competition: the first prize was awarded ex æquo to Panayiotis Kokoras for his work Magic and to David Hindmarch for his work Golden Bowls. The Motus Prize has been awarded to Dans le ventre de la machine by Nicolas Bernier, and the Phonos Prize has been awarded to Caída, memoria y restitución by Ezequiel Esquenazi. A Special mention Musiques & Recherches was given to Les lointains noirs et rouges by Gilles Gobeil. Mentions were also awarded to works by Martin Bédard, Pei-Yu Shi, Peiman Khosravi, Lautaro Vieyra, Chester Udell, Andy Dolphin, Charles Nichols, and Sergio Santi.
Gilles Gobeil and onde Martenot player Suzanne Binet-Audet will present seven concerts in the UK from November 12 to 23, 2011: Edinburgh (12), Glasgow (14), Keele (16), Bangor (17), Birmingham (19), Norwich (21), Scarborough (23). In these concerts are programed the three works for ondes Martenot and tape by Gilles Gobeil from the disc Trilogie d’ondes along with a few recent acousmatic pieces.
The 3rd festival EmuFest will take place from November 14 to 21, 2010 at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome (Italy). While the schedule is not completed at the time of this writing, Les lointains noirs et rouges by Gilles Gobeil, Badlands by David Berezan, and the videomusic by Francis Dhomont and Inés Wickmann will be presented.
Annette Vande Gorne is a guest composer at the 6th Bienal Internacional de Música Eletroacústica de São Paulo (BIMESP) to take place on August 18 - 27, 2010 at the Teatro Maria de Lourdes Sekeff of the Instituto de Artes da UNESP in São Paulo (Brazil). On August 19 afternoon Annette Vande Gorne will give a masterclass and, in the evening, will diffuse a megaconcert of Belgian music, the Painel dos Países 2 — Bélgica concert. On August 20 she will spatialise the works selected by Gilles Gobeil for the Painel dos Países 3 — Canadá concert.
Gilles Gobeil will present a conference (Some Elements of My Musical Language) and a concert on July 16, 2010 at the Klangregie and Raum-Musik of the Musiksaal der Universität zu Köln in… Cologne (Germany).
Gilles Gobeil finished the music for the choreography Effraction de l’oubli by Camille Mutel of the French dance company Li(luo). The work was premiered on May 21, 2010 during the 26th Musique action festival in Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy (France). It was also presented in Luxembourg on May 22 and will be presented in Trier (Germany) on June 4.
Gilles Gobeil will present a conference and a concert on April 22, 2010 at the Folkwang Universität in Essen (Germany).
The Music Technology programme at Northeastern University in Boston (USA) is presenting a 4-concert electroacoustic concert series this winter 2010. Concert #1 on January 23, 2010 is featuring Gilles Gobeil (and will include Dreams in the Desert by Elainie Lillios) and concert #2 on February 13 is featuring Denis Smalley (and will include à la cire perdue by Laurie Radford). Both these first concerts are presented at The Fenway Center in Boston (USA).
