Raôul Duguay (Val d’Or, Québec, 1939) • residence: Saint-Armand, Québec

• writer

Since the time of the group Infonie, a sort of audiovisual hurricane that took the country by storm in the early 70s, which he cofounded with Walter Boudreau, Raôul Duguay has changed a lot… In turn assistant geologist, doctor of philosophy, professor of æsthetics, anti-establishment columnist, publicist, host of counterculture programs at Radio-Canada, man of drama and living ‘coup de théâtre’, avant-garde poet, vocal acrobat, trumpet player and singer in all styles, Raôul Duguay is now artistic director of multimedia events, lecturer, large crowd animator and composer of music for film.

Raôul Duguay changed his looks, but in substance the trajectory of his thought and creativity has remained constant. His tendency to try to bring together and to unify art, science and conscience is now more apparent in his recent work.
