Chants libres presents “Opér’Actuel — Works in progress 2004” on April 4, 2004 in Montréal. Six works are on the programme including “Cantate du lit” by young composer Gabriel Dharmoo, and L’archange by Louis Dufort and Alexis Nouss (with soprano Véronique Dubois and Émilie Laforest).
Gabriel Dharmoo, who presents his electronic compositions on the album Besoins cathodiques, won the SOCAN Foundation’s Godfrey Ridout Award for his composition À l’homme. Also awarded is young composer Martin Leclerc who won both first and second prize of the Hugh Le Caine Award for his electroacoustics works … et le ça and Il y a… il y avait des fleurs.
