States of Play is a weekend of immersion in sound organized by BEAST on October 15 to 17, 2010 at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Centre (Birmingham, UK). The 5 concerts feature classic works from the French tradition (music by François Bayle, Bernard Parmegiani, and Les corps éblouis by Christian Calon) and recent music from Birmingham and around the world: 22 works by 22 composers including Jonty Harrison, Annie Mahtani, John Young, Shelly Knotts, Francis Dhomont, Hans Tutschku…
The 2009 Futura festival will take place on August, 20 — 23, 2009 in Crest, France. On the programme, works by Otomo Yoshihide, Luc Ferrari, Denis Dufour, Francis Dhomont (Corps et âme), Michel Chion, Michèle Bokanowski, Chantal Dumas, Ivo Malec, Bernard Parmegiani, Christian Zanési, Christian Calon and many others.
There will be a nocturnal acousmatic concert starting on May 14, 2009 as part of Les musiques festival in Marseille (France). The programme includes Robert Normandeau’s work Palimpseste, Francis Dhomont’s Here and There (available on … et autres utopies), Denis Dufour’s Douze mélodies acousmatiques, Chantal Dumas’ s/t w/t, Michel Chion’s Credo, a work by Christian Calon and many others.
Theresa Transistor (Christian Bouchard, Christian Calon, Mario Gauthier, Monique Jean) will participate to the first concert of a series called Je me souviens (2) on April 2, 2009 at La Sala Rossa (Montréal). This series is a tribute to Québec electronic music pionneers. This frist concert is dedicated to István Anhalt.
Theresa Transistor (Christian Bouchard, Christian Calon, Mario Gauthier, Monique Jean) will be at the Mois Multi (MM10), a festival of technological arts held in Québec City which takes place from February 12 to March 1, 2009. The quartet will present a work of improvised electroacoustics called Espèces d’espaces on February 12, 2009.
Robert Normandeau’s Pluies noires (Black Rains), a work co-comissionned by Miso Music (Portugal) and Réseaux (Montréal), by will premiere on September 25, 2008 during the Festival Música Viva in Lisbon (Portugal). The work will also be presented on December 13 during Akousma (5) in Montréal. In Portugal, Robert Normandeau will also present Le renard et la rose along with two more works commissioned by Réseaux: Parcelles 2 by Christian Bouchard, and Ouest (a mouvement from Atlas) by Christian Calon.
The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has hosted a number of Canadian electroacoustic composers over the years such as: Robin Minard, Gordon Monahan, Christian Calon, Francis Dhomont, and Robert Normandeau. The DEGEM and ZKM propose a WebRadio programme which features works composed by these past guest artists as well as by the newest Canadian guest, Gilles Gobeil, in Berlin since January 2008. The Programme B is under section “Berichte/Features.”
The 14th international acousmatic festival L’espace du son will take place from October 17 to 21, 2007 at Théâtre Marni in Brussels. The opening night of the festival will celebrate the Musiques & Recherches’ 25th anniversary, premiering 3 musical works: Voix de l’aurore by Ingrid Drese, Murmures by Robert Normandeau, and Chœur des femmes 2, a movement from the opera Yawar Fiesta by Annette Vande Gorne on a libretto by Werner Lambersy. The day after, October 18, will be dedicated to Christian Calon’s music; October 19, to Jean-François Minjard; October 20, to Bernard Parmegiani; and October 21 to Beatriz Ferreyra and Ana Dall’Ara-Majek.

Following a residency at the Technische Universität (TU) in Berlin (Germany) from March 11 to 21, 2007 where he is finishing a new composition, Christian Calon will premiere the third region of Atlas (Est) as part of the 5th International Linux Audio Conference (LAC2007) on March 22 — 25, 2007 in Berlin. For this occasion, the multitrack work has been produced for a spatialisation on very wide WFS (Wave Field Synthesis) surround system on 840 tracks and about 3,000 loudspeakers. Furthermore, Nord (the first region of Atlas) by the same composer and Rituale by Hans Tutschku will be presented in concert respectively on March 23 and March 24, again as part of the concerts organized by Tesla and the Deutsche Akademische Austausch Dienst (DAAD) for LAC2007.
