Diploma in psychology and sociology in 1983. Between 1983-1989 composition studies with Nicolaus A Huber (instrumental) and Dirk Reith (electroacoustic) at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen. Commission and collaboration with choreographer Susanne Linke for the choreography “Ruhrort”, followed by several international performances in America, Europe and Asia (Paris, Theatre de Ville, Tel Aviv, Charleroi, Madrid and some others). Ballet music for the “Nederlands Dans Theater” with his orchestra piece “Riti Contour”. Work with solo dancers for choreographies for example “Le temps s’ouvre” with electroacoustic music . Collaboration with Christian Moeller for Multimedia Expositions in Tokyos Spiral Hall. International Performances f.e. at the INA, Paris or at ICMC’s in San Jose, Tokyo, Banff, Thessaloniki. Collaboration with the institute “InterArtes” with video artist Silke Braemer for the Video “Lizard Point”. Awards: Folkwang Award/Essen, Award from the WDR and performance of an orchestra piece in the Philharmony Cologne. Busoni Award of the “Akademie der Kuenste”, Berlin, Golden Nica at the Ars Electronica, Linz, Austria, Larry Austin Award, ICMA San Francisco, Grand Prix at the Concours international de Musique electroacoustique, Bourges. Scholarship of the German government by the DAAD. Visiting Scholar at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustic (CCRMA) Stanford University between 1991 and 1993. Stipend from the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie ZKM Karlsruhe for the creation of a work with physical models. Menzioni d’onore at the Luigi Russolo Competition, Italy and the Stockholm Electronic Music Award. Second Prize at the Prix Ars Electronica 1998 with the Music for the Installation “Sound garden” from Christian Moeller. Winner of the international Rostrum for electroacoustic Music 1998 (UNESCO). Lizard Point was nominated for the international Video Art Award of the German TV SWR, Swiss TV DFS and the Center for Art and Mediea Technology Karlsruhe [ZKM] out of 1050 videos.
